Stuart Fl. Sailfish Charters:
Held in the highest regards, fastest and most sought after game fish by anglers around the globe, the Atlantic sailfish migrates up and down the Florida coast year round. During season, this majestic fish offers ample opportunities to anglers of all skill levels. Stuart Florida has been nick named “The Sailfish Capital Of The World” and without doubt it is best places in the country to target these amazing fish.
Capt. Scott has over 50 top three finishes in billfish tournaments alone and has been Top Captain in the Treasure Coast Sailfish Championship multiple times. He also holds the record as Captain for most sailfish releases over the three tournament series, and has released 28 sails in a single day on three separate occasions while fishing out of Stuart Fl. Captain Scott encourages a hands on approach and has the experience and professionalism to help you hook, fight and release that fish of a lifetime. Whether it’s your first sailfish release ever, or the last of a five banger to win a tournament, Capt. Scott exhibits professionalism and courtesy while keeping the madness in check and instructing you to a successful sailfish release.
The majority of our Fl, sailfish charters are spent trolling dead baits, or drifting live baits suspended from kites, but over the last few years we have been doing a lot more fly fishing for sailfish with good success. In all cases we use at least one dredge teaser pulled from a Cannon TS10 electric downrigger and tackle ranging from 12- 20 lb test on custom Blackfin Rods. The tactics and teasers used while targeting sailfish will attract all local species, it is common to catch dolphin, blackfin tuna, false albacore, wahoo, kingfish sharks and cobia while casing sailfish off Stuart, making “dinner and a show” a good possibility every time. The bait and switch bite, off the teaser, in my opinion is the most exciting bite fishing offers and that is what the boat is named after… Hooking a sailfish “Off the Chain” or off the dredge never gets old, and with Captain Scott’s teaser set up you’ll see why.
